Both the 220 and 221 approach Manchester
via Ashton Old Road whereas the 217 and 218 use Manchester
Road up to Edge Lane. Both routes join Ashton New Road via
Edge Lane, North Road, Tartan Street and Bank Street. The
217 and 218 continue to Manchester (Shudehill Interchange)
via Alan Turing Way, Bradford Road, Great Ancoats Street
and the Northern Quarter (Oldham Street/Lever Street,
Church Street and High Street).
Connections with Other Routes:
Bus and rail routes which may connect well with any of the Manchester buses mentioned herein. Please note that connections cannot always be guaranteed due to traffic conditions. Timetables may also be subject to change.
Belle Vue: (all routes) for the Showcase Cinemas and the Greyhound track, change at Grey Mare Lane for a 53 bus (Old Trafford/Pendleton) or Ashton New Road/Alan Turing Way near the City of Manchester Stadium.
Stockport: (all routes) alight at Dukinfield Town Hall for the frequent 330 service to Hyde, Woodley, Portwood and Stockport town centre. You may prefer to change at Droylsden for a 7 (via Gorton and Reddish) or at Audenshaw (Old Pack Horse) for a 317 (via Denton) or 347. With the latter bus, change at Denton (Crown Point) for a 327 to Stockport via Brinnington.
Newton Heath: (217/218) change at Openshaw (Morrisons) or at Edge Lane for the 171/172 services.
Chorlton-cum-Hardy: (217/218) change at Droylsden town centre or Ashton-under-Lyne bus station for a 168.
